There are all kinds of signs that get posted in my neigborhood. Some are notices of association meetings, others about a lost pet, occasionlly we even get a bit of graffiti. So it was nice to see this useful reminder of a more light-hearted nature posted in a neightbor’s garden.

The weather was so great today. So, I thought I’d take a stroll around my neighborhood.

This is the top of a great breakfast spot just a short walk out my font door, The Original Pancake House. (Of course, it’s a chain. This isn’t the original.)

In Japan, 7-11 stores are everywhere. This is a quick snap taken at a one of these stores in Motohakone. Motohakone is a small resort town on the shores of Lake Ashi known primarily for it’s hot springs.

I decided to be adventurous. Pocari Sweat is, basically, just clear gatorade.

Incidently, in the lower left-hand corner of the frame, you can see the only diet drink available in Japan: Coke Zero. However, there it’s marketed as a health drink and not a diet beverage. It’s hard to sell diet drinks to a population that’s so skinny.

Good Morning Tokyo

Good Moring Tokyo

Tokyo is already moving early on a Thursday morning.

Most of the year, Tokyo is covered in a haze. Partly this is from polution and partly from the humidity and geography of the city. However, on Wednesday it rained and rained. Along with the rain came a great deal of wind. It blew the haze of ouf the city.

So it was on Thursday morning that we first saw how far Tokyo stretches out. It’s also the first time we could actually tell that the city is surrounded by mountains.

As the winds continued to blow and the clouds cleared out, this would turn out to be the most beautiful day of our entire honeymoon trip.

Taken from our 32nd floor oom in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel near the Nihonbashi distict of Tokyo.

The gift left in my kitchen from my lovely wife.

I’ve heard it said that the most impressive art is that which has to shine through while still complying the contraints of a frame work. Hiaku, for instance, demands a strict structure of syllables. But, that is still wide open to the full range of the poet’s vocabulary.

However, working even within the options of magnetic terms, my wife can still artfully commuicate one of life’s most mysterious conditions.

I love you too, Pretty Lady.

On this last trip to Walt Disney World, we followed up a stay at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge with a stay at Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Both are amazing resorts. You could plan to spend your entire vacation just visiting the resorts.

The big selling point of Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is that many of the rooms overlook a recreated African Savanna. Was excited about the the idea of stepping out onto the balcony and watching the animals. But this Disney controlled environment had an additional, unexpected benefit.

Stepping out onto the balcony was incredibly peaceful and quiet. There were no unsupervised children running and squealing thier way to the pool. Those that were out on thier balcony’s were too enrapture by the amazing wildlife to make much noise.

You wouldn’t know it from the lobby, but I believe Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge is the most serene resort at Walt Disney World.
