Sometimes you just have to make due with the glass you have on your camera when an opportunity strikes. While photographic violets, this wasp flew into the area. I tried to get a good autofocus, but I knew my lens wouldn’t be clear if I got any closer and the focus target was just too small. So I threw the lens into manual mode, grabbed the focus ring, and hoped for the best.
This tiny little guy appears to be a wasp in the Crabronidae family. I remember learning about these at Epcot. They’re good for controling the population of other insects such as aphids.
